Your files are never sent anywhere — all conversion runs locally on your Windows PC. This site uses anonymous analytics, which are only activated after you give consent.

Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymous usage statistics — which pages are visited and how visitors navigate the site. No personal content is collected. IP addresses are anonymized before any data is sent to Google.
Analytics cookies are only set after you explicitly accept via the cookie banner shown on your first visit. If you decline, no analytics data is collected and no cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time via the Cookie settings link in the footer.
Google Analytics data is processed by Google LLC in accordance with their privacy policy.
Waitlist and launch notifications
If you sign up for launch notifications via our waitlist form, we collect your email address for the sole purpose of sending you one notification when Markdownizer launches on Microsoft Store. Your address is not shared with any third party and will not be used for any other purpose.
Document conversion
All file conversion runs entirely on your local machine. When you drop a Word document, PDF, or HTML file into Markdownizer, it is read and processed by the application running on your PC. Your documents are never uploaded to a server, never logged, and never transmitted over the internet as part of the conversion process.
The resulting Markdown files are written to the destination folder you have configured in your profile. We never receive, see, or retain any record of your documents or their content.
AI image descriptions (optional, BYOK)
Markdownizer optionally supports AI-powered image descriptions using your own API key (Bring Your Own Key). If you enable this and configure a key for Claude (Anthropic), OpenAI, or a local Ollama instance:
- Images extracted from your documents are sent directly from your machine to the AI provider you have chosen, using your own API key.
- Your API key is encrypted at rest using Windows Data Protection API (DPAPI, current-user scope) and stored locally in your application profile. It is never transmitted to RocketMade Productions AB.
- The privacy policy of your chosen AI provider applies to any data you send to their service.
- When using a local Ollama instance, no data leaves your machine at all.
This feature is disabled by default and must be explicitly enabled in the profile settings.
Application settings and profiles
Markdownizer stores your profiles and application settings in
%APPDATA%\RMP Software\markdownizer\
on your local machine. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.
Microsoft Store
Markdownizer is distributed through the Microsoft Store. Microsoft may collect diagnostic and usage data as part of the Store platform, independent of Markdownizer. This is subject to Microsoft's own privacy policy. Markdownizer itself collects no telemetry and sends no usage data to our servers.
Hosting and infrastructure
markdownizer.com is hosted on Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps. Microsoft may process standard server-side access logs (IP address, browser type, request path) as part of normal infrastructure operation, subject to Microsoft's data processing terms.
Google Fonts
This website loads the Plus Jakarta Sans typeface from Google Fonts. When your browser requests the font files, Google may log your IP address as part of standard CDN operation. See Google's privacy policy.
Your rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you.
If you have signed up for launch notifications and wish to be removed, or if you have any other privacy request, contact us at markdownizer@markdownizer.com and we will respond promptly.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. We will also notify waitlist subscribers if changes affect how we handle their email address.
